Labuan Bajo, August 23, 2025 — The Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) once again presented a creative public space initiative through Weekend at Parapuar Volume 3, held on Saturday (08/23/2025) afternoon at the Natas Parapuar area, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
This event is part of BPOLBF’s ongoing commitment to creating more land-based activities for tourists, strengthening the creative economy ecosystem, and supporting the development of quality tourism in the super-priority destination of Labuan Bajo.
Weekend at Parapuar Vol. 3 offered a vibrant weekend atmosphere featuring traditional art performances in collaboration with local art communities. Local MSMEs also took part by showcasing a variety of traditional Manggarai culinary delights. This cultural and culinary showcase is expected to serve as an alternative attraction for tourists seeking authentic experiences in Labuan Bajo.
BPOLBF Acting President Director, Dwi Marhen Yono, emphasized the importance of the event in creating opportunities for the local community while strengthening the creative economy network.
“This event is a form of our commitment to supporting local communities’ expression while also strengthening the creative economy network in Labuan Bajo,” said Marhen.
He added that Weekend at Parapuar is not only a medium of entertainment and recreation but also serves as a platform for cultural learning and local potential promotion. The event bridges tourists with local wisdom in an inclusive and inspiring setting.
Also attending the event, Agnes Wirdayanti, Acting Head of the Bureau of Data, Communication, and Public Information of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm of visitors, including international tourists.
“I would like to warmly welcome everyone who has joined us at Weekend at Parapuar. It is such a joy to be here and experience this warm, vibrant atmosphere together. This event is a special opportunity to celebrate the beauty of nature, culture, and harmony of life that Parapuar offers. I encourage all of you to continue supporting this activity and share it with your families, friends, and the wider community so they too can come and experience Parapuar’s unique weekend offerings,” said Agnes.
She also stressed that through this event, visitors gain a deeper understanding of Manggarai’s rich and authentic culture — a heritage that is an essential part of Indonesia’s identity.
“I especially invite international tourists here today to include Parapuar as part of their journey exploring Indonesia’s incredible destinations. Beyond Labuan Bajo and Komodo Island, we also have Wakatobi for ocean lovers, Jakarta as the bustling city center, Yogyakarta with its cultural heritage, and Lake Toba surrounded by stunning landscapes and history. Through events like this, I believe we can all develop a deeper love and appreciation for Indonesia’s treasures. Let’s make Weekend at Parapuar the gateway to discovering and enjoying the true beauty of Indonesia,” she added.
Meanwhile, Raul Raw, a tourist from Spain, shared his positive impressions of Labuan Bajo and his experience attending the event.
